Why NOT Informix (again)? / Porque não Informix (novamente)

A few month ago I wrote an article ( http://informix-technology.blogspot.pt/2012/03/why-or-why-not-prque-ou-porque-nao.html) where I picked on a twit made by someone who was asking why "some people still use Informix"... And hopefully I changed the point to "why shouldn't you use it"?

Today there was an IBM webcast that raised the same point. I tried to attend it, but because I was working on a customer (Informix) I was not able to do so. Thankfully the author, Tom Rieger, sent the presentation and a link to a video posted on Youtube with the conference recording. I will not go through the presentation here... I'll just put the link... If you want a rather clear vision of what Informix can do, and who's using it, check it. I find it a bit surprising because usually we're very "shy" regarding to explaining who/how people are using Informix.

Há alguns meses atrás escrevi um artigo ( http://informix-technology.blogspot.pt/2012/03/why-or-why-not-prque-ou-porque-nao.html) onde peguei num twit criado por alguém que perguntava "porque é que alguém ainda usa Informix"... Espero ter voltado a questão para "porque não deveriam usar?"

Hoje foi emitido um webcast que levantava o mesmo ponto. Tentei assistir, mas porque estava a trabalhar num cliente (Informix) não me foi possível. Felizmente o autor, Tom Rieger, enviou a apresentação e um URL de um video colocado no Youtube com a gravação da conferência. Não vou descrever a apresentação aqui... apenas deixarei o URL... Se quer uma visão clara do que o Informix pode fazer e sobre quem o usa, veja-o. Achei-o bastante surpreendente porque habitualmente somos bastante "envergonhados" no que diz respeita a explicar quem/como usa Informix. Naturalmente o video está em Inglês
